I am very familiar with that photo and its provenance from my collection [Posted on FAG without acknowledgement - from LOTFWW or perhaps GWF I believe - but not that bothered about its use under non-commercial fair rights but do think FAG should encourage/require acknowledgement of sources] FYI there are two other GWF threads with this photo - latest is about his MM :-) M

Using the link you provided it came visible [can't explain why the difference] - not a great surprise though = it is a CWGC headstone after all. I am also hoping for a grave environment/setting photo too hence my GWF enquiry/request. Perhaps when CV restrictions abate people will start doing more visiting and thus more photos emerging. Cheers. :-) Edited 3 June , 2020 by Matlock1418 typo

Thank you for this lovely selection of photos. They definitely give a great sense of a quiet location amongst the fields [ploughing and harvest times probably excepted!] Based on shadows & trees and adjacent wall think you I think you were pretty close, certainly I think at that side of the cemetery. Many thanks once again :-) M
Admin Michelle Young Posted 3 June , 2020 Admin Share Posted 3 June , 2020 My pleasure, it's a lovely spot. The last two were taken on the centenary of the Kaisers Battle, a rather dull chilly day.

Ah, great - they can all look the same I know. How does that leave the third and on in the first bunch - still Savy? 2 minutes ago, Michelle Young said: Will leave be. Admin Michelle Young Posted 3 June , 2020 Admin Share Posted 3 June , 2020 The third on the first bunch is definitely Savy, took it almost 5 years ago, on the last trip my father managed to make; we were en route from the Somme to the Aisne and stopped for lunch there.
