Dazscuba Posted 2 June , 2020 Share Posted 2 June , 2020 Looking at 9th Battalion, West Yorkshire Reg war Diary and found the following which made me chuckle as it would have been the same when I was in the army in the 80s finding any buckshee service kit. I’m sure all squaddies would still be the same now. “The enemy had retreated hurriedly leaving much booty including a complete QM clothing store” wonder what booty there was? Ron Clifton Posted 2 June , 2020 Share Posted 2 June , 2020 More seriously, there were cases in the German spring 1918 offensive of German troops over-running British stores depots and finding that, contrary to what they had been told, the British rations were plentiful. This became a severe blow to German morale, as their own rations had been greatly reduced. Ron
