MaxD Posted 1 June , 2020 Share Posted 1 June , 2020 (edited) The Heavy Artillery Groups arel isted as Brigades RGA ( a title they had for a short period) at the National Archives so example, 52 HAG is found by 52 Brigade Royal Garrison Artillery WO 95 (52 Brigade Garrison WO 95 will do in the search box) http://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_aq=52 brigade garrison WO 95&_nq1=rhine&_nq2=welbeck&_dss=range&_ro=any&_st=adv The HAG diaries will cover all the batteries they had in the period covered so you have to read them very closely looking for movement of the batteries in and out. A further tip - a battery joining or leaving does not necessarily mean it physically moved. Max Edited 1 June , 2020 by MaxD
Dazscuba Posted 2 June , 2020 Author Share Posted 2 June , 2020 John, Max thank you for this. It’s for an elderly gent in the Netherlands who’s family member served in the First World War. I have his MIC & Medal Card just looking for what else I can find him.
