It's marked Lucas Ltd, date is most probably 1918 and has rolled ears. It also has a number on the collar: 2951D5. Is that a unit number or service number? Thanks.1213071289_Lucas(1)-kopie.JPG.a44ee225884c9fce97c0abf1855dd888.JPG

Purely a guess but I would think that is someones service number stamped onto it.

Looks to me like 1917 and 295105. I also think it's a service number.

Nice item.

FMP show half a dozen matches for the service number, Northumberland Fus. Manchester’s, London Reg. and Somerset L.I amongst the Infantry.

The picture's are not that clear but It's definitely 2951D5 and the date is very probable 1918 (more likely than 1917).

@GWF1967: Can you explain what FMP is? Thanks

FMP- Find My Past military records.

The D in 2951D5 is almost certainly a poorly struck 0.  The numbers were individually punched by hand.
