Guest Posted 31 May , 2020 Share Posted 31 May , 2020 Does it look OK? I'm a little concerned about the rough surface and H letter.

W for Woolwich on the back, die no. by the leg of the lion, artist’s initials on the right. If the H is narrow compared to others then it is from a die used to make plaques for Women who died in service. The letter S was later removed from the word She. 303man Posted 31 May , 2020 Share Posted 31 May , 2020 Looks perfectly fine, the vast majority of Royal Navy issued plaques have the Narrow H and there are 2 Charles Bryant Naval Casualties.

Jim Strawbridge Posted 1 June , 2020 Share Posted 1 June , 2020 Yes, It's right. Made in a sand mould so a little rough surface is to be expected. The narrow H tends mainly to be found on Royal Navy casualties memorial plaques.
