Thatww1pigeon Posted 29 May , 2020 Share Posted 29 May , 2020 Hi there. Here I have a total of 5 puttees. None of them are dated. So I ask, is there any way in identifying puttees and what era they are from, maybe the material is the key to knowing? I understand that puttees were used post ww1 so that is why I am wondering. Any help is great, thanks.

Thatww1pigeon Posted 30 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 30 May , 2020 Good to know Mark, does that apply to every nation during the war, or just the major powers?
mark holden Posted 30 May , 2020 Share Posted 30 May , 2020 I can't speak for the other nations but British Army issued puttees were 9 foot in length.
