Don Regiano Posted 29 May , 2020 Share Posted 29 May , 2020 Basically, the trench is now the road between High Wood and Longueval.which you can see in the middle distance on the first photo and just behind the rolls of hay in the second. Fattyowls Posted 29 May , 2020 Share Posted 29 May , 2020 Hi Vinnie Just to illustrate line of Black Watch trench from the Don's photos (pity about the cable in the first one though), this is looking back along the road that he mentions with High Wood on the horizon. I think there are trench maps around on the internet and certainly contemporary aerial views of the wood. Trench photos of High Wood are very rare; I think I've only ever seen one. Pete.
