Remembered Today:

Royal Artillery Sergeant

Hi all

I have just got a postcard photograph from my aunt with my Grandfather on it. Date on the back is just '1918'.

I am just starting research on Grandpops. The picture is of him (he is the bruising sergeant!)

I just wanterd to confirm he was in the Royal Artillery and what the little badge above his sergeant's stripes on his right sleeve might have been. scan doesn't resolve any better I am afraid.

There are four possible people with his name in artillery on the PRO MIC and I am going there this weekend

Any information, however small would be useful.

Thanks

Dominic

Hi, Here is what he is wearing above the sergeant stripes:

It looks like he is wearing the brass version - one on each arm. rank of Gunnery Sergeant?
