Hi All,

Can somebody enlighten me as to this entry on David's record's please, I know he's revived a bounty for joining id just like to do a bit of reading on the subject.

Also is there a war diary equitant for the RAF squadrons I can view? I'd like to find out a bit more on the 50th squadron if possible. Sorry if that's a daft question I've not done much research on the RAF.

Thanks in advance

Kev

I think 50 Squadron was a Home Service Squadron. A brief overview appears here

war diary equivalents do exist for overseas squadrons under 'Operations Record Book' Air27 series at National Archives.

If you tap in    Army Order 209 of 1916     in this forum's search box you get several useful threads like this one

edit

Looking at his service record it says no wartime RFC/RAF service overseas. His 14 Star, BWM and VM were all earned for his time in the Rifle Brigade.
