No idea where this cemetery is; it would be nice to know. I have posted it simply because I thought it was a stunning photograph. It comes from the CWGC 2023 calender. 20230108_113430.jpg.39e91601f782f7406b84b72ff3e7d254.jpg

Looking at online images of Bedford House, I would say that you might well be correct there Marilyne. Good shout; thanks 👍

Not exactly where is this, but spotted this sign in a CWGC cemetery this week, and disturbed a few ladybirds.

The sign was at Borre and the ladybirds at Aval Wood.

Cheered up instantly, good call. We were quite buoyed up with the Swansea result too, having a soft spot for the other boys in royal blue.

Cheers pal. We're on a roll now for sure 😁 Blue is the colour.

still trying to figure out where .... :D:D

I'm feeling battered by Michelle's outstanding expertise in this thread!

Off out to the Somme on Tuesday for a flying visit to check on the house.  No time for battlefield stuff, other than travelling my oft-travelled path from Bapaume via Flers, Longueval and Guillemont.  Wish me luck with all this industrial action in France.

Didn’t have any issues when over last week. Able to get petrol ok, used Routes Nationale so no idea if there’s any problems on the motorways. Food prices had gone up a lot though.

No problems at all as far as I know, except on the railways.

Nothing in the local Press, anyway.

Maybe Boyfried could laugh... but he had yet to get his first St Bernardus... to each hie pêché minion ...

Meanwhile it's gorgeous weather outside, ideal for a photographic trip to the front but alas! I'm home-working (not on leave) and holding the rocket-launcher might cause my ribs to complain a bit...

Comes to us all, if we're lucky!

Those of us who remember the days of 35mm film may recognise what has gone on here. This is a double exposure as a result of not winding the film on far enough, but where are the two places?

Absolutely correct on both counts Tom. Pompelle, just outside Rheims was the first stop and the second was just up the road. There is a Hollywood aspect, and a very singular British connection.

Pete.
