Goodness, I haven’t been to this cemetery for donkeys years. Must put that right.

Neither have I, another one from 1994

If only I'd known you in the early 80's Toby; after I taught myself to touch type most of my disposable income went on the product. I am not sure that I made quite that many errors however and the inhalation issues explain much about my behaviour during that period.

As to the not recently visited cemetery it looks to me like a battlefield cemetery with scattered graves with perhaps a bit of concentration on the outer rows. My first thought was that it was somewhere in Picardy due to the flints in the wall but beyond that I'm sorry I haven't a clue.

Pete.

Tippex? I feel most insulted. I used my virtually non existent computer skills to blank the name. Think east of Bapaume.

Is that 2 cemeteries or 1?

Correct

I started off with the idea of searching through French cemeteries with less than a hundred burials, but when I saw that there are more than two thousand of those, decided against it. 😊

The yews have gone, that’s what threw me.  Photo taken 2016.

That's a great photo Michelle. A lovely little cemetery.

distinctive steps

When I saw your original photo of Beaumetz, it reminded me of a cemetery which actually isn't too far away from that one and is one of my favourites in terms in long distant views.  It also has fairly distinctive steps:

Agree with the good views from here. I like the way the steps are formed around the Cross of Sacrifice. Also unusual in that the cross and shelter are offset to the side of the graves.

Regrettably, the day I visited it was misty and wet so I couldn’t really  enjoy the views.

Another one for you to ponder, in addition to the two on the go already.

Marilyne.

It's Ruyaulcourt, to the east of Bapaume.  Tricky parking!

Worth a visit Steve - one of my favourites.  Contains 2 of SWMBO's 48 men from the Manchester & County Bank who died.
