Hi Chaz

I will take a punt on Larch Wood(Railway Cutting) Cemetery, the only other one close to a main line that I can think of off the top of my head is Croisilles Railway Cemetery, but the orientation is wrong.

the only train passing Larch wood is the one joining Poperinge to Ypres... operation by Belgian trains.... have yet to see a French train venturing that far out.

Yep, that's the one! 7th Division concentrated there on 14th October 1914 before marching to Ypres.

Well done @Marilyne!

Very quick off the mark Michelle; it is a very moving photograph that Michel has posted (Merci Michel). I'm just between computers at the moment and all my battlefield ones are on the old laptop, I must transfer them across and look for some more obscure views.

I particularly like this cemetery.
moreover I am looking for photos of this cemetery during the conflict and after the war.

for the Dud Corner and Loos British cemetery, I found this.

A very beautiful peaceful photo. What you don’t hear or see is the motorway just over the wall at the back.

The motorway isn’t at the back but practically next to the cemetery, I had to check Google Earth as it’s been a few years since I was there. I was surprised to see a new industrial park built very close. You used to be able to drive up the track by it and get onto a prominent hill with far reaching views and history.
