Struggling over two words on a card :

Thanks very much for ?----? letter.

And a guess at the sender's name?

If I can get the name I am hoping I can find him in the Gordons listings and thereby ID the battalion shown on the front.

Thanks in advance,

Chris

‘newsy’ meaning ‘full of news’. Signature could be ‘Herbert’?

Thanks Martin - confirms my (and my better half's guess)

Name Herbert too -- which is excellent news because it means I think I have identified the sender...and hence the battalion.

and it's the 4th! Hurrah!
