hmsk212 Posted 13 May , 2020 Share Posted 13 May , 2020 Hi Looking for a bit of help. I have come across a recommendation for Captain Edmund Roger Tempest RFC to be awarded the Belgian Croix de Guerre. This was dated 18th December 1917 and signed by the Officer in Charge of 64 Squadron. I know he was awarded the MC and DFC but I cannot find any reference to the Croix de Guerre. Was he awarded the medal or was the recommendation turned down ? Steve
ForeignGong Posted 13 May , 2020 Share Posted 13 May , 2020 Can't find him any where for any foreign awards, but that doesn't mean he didn't get one. His service papers will be the best bet. If you do find an authority for the CdG could you please let me know so I can add him to my DB. Thanks Peter
hmsk212 Posted 13 May , 2020 Author Share Posted 13 May , 2020 (edited) Hi Peter, I have looked at his WO339 file but that doesn't mention the medal and sadly his Officers File with the RAF is not available as he served after 1920. All I have is the attached picture taken from 64 Squadron Files . Steve fr Edited 13 May , 2020 by hmsk212
