Hi has anyone got any pictures of soldiers of the 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry...?? I'm Looking of either a group picture or a picture of my great grandad.... He was Private William F Biddle 8679 2nd Battalion Highland Light Infantry he did on 2nd Nov 1914 and is Buried in Menin Gate Memorial Ypres(Leper) Arrondissement West Flanders Belgium.... Can anyone Help me at all...??

Welcome to the forum Bruce. William is not  buried at the Menin Gate, he is commemorated on one of the panels there as he has no known grave. Regards photos, local papers really are your best bet.

Have searched the British Newspaper Archive for Warwickshire newspapers of the period but no photographs I'm afraid, there are probably some that haven't been scanned and are in collections at the local library. I did find this letter in the Leamington Spa Courier (4/12/1914) which indicates his body was found and buried. His grave was probably obliterated later on in the war.
