Remembered Today:

Help please (is there a doctor in the house?)

This is a clip from a Pension Ledger Card, and I think the disabilities are actually just one long sentence?

I am reading it as :

Gunshot wound Head. Nerve left and partial Paralysis of 3rd Cronial of sight.

I am probably wrong with some of the underlined words, especially Cronial. Expert help would be much appreciated.

Im no doctor but a google search of "Paralysis of 3rd CR" Brings up:

Oculomotor nerve palsy is an eye condition resulting from damage to the third cranial nerve or a branch thereof.

Hope this helps

Indeed. Cranial.

 I think, the sentence reads

GSW Head

Paralysis of 3rd Cranial

Nerve left and partial

[the word 'loss' is missing!]

of sight.

The 3rd cranial nerve (oculomotor nerve) is responsible  for supplying all of the eye muscles apart from

Lateral Rectus muscle, which deviates the eyeball  straight right or left (6th nerve) and

Superior Oblique, (4th Nerve).

Thanks for all the help, the lack of 'loss' had me lost!

Army clerks eh, they should have been sent to the front.
