I'm hoping that this will be a very quick call for help that someone will answer in a flash.

I'm trying to locate the War Diary for the above for the period of July to September 1918. The 25th Battlion Diary for March 1918 to April 1919 states that one needs to look at "59th Division" and this is where I'm struggling.

My chap, 2nd Lieutenant Percy William Moss, was KiA on 23/08/1918 "whilst providing covering fire for 156th Infantry Brigade", but I would like to have more detail if possible and tie down a location.

Many thanks!

Hi,

His CWGC entry and documents state both 25th MGC and 59th MG Battalion. He's mentioned in the 25th Bn diary:

https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C7355168

Free in the short term if you log in.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards

Colin

This is exactly what I was after, thanks! I didn't find it because I was searching under 59th Division.
