Maybe...

Thank you all for your help

Dai I dont think its the monmouths as they are mentioned a lot and you can read the way the chap writes looks like maybe a B or S ? I have looked at the make up of the 160th but cannot find anything like it other than as you say monmouths

BTW whats a buzzer its some thing to do with signals?

Biffo, I think I read somewhere that the "buzzer" was another word for the wireless... let me ask some CIS guys...

I also agree on the Monmouth on14. First reaction was "bushmen"... or something starting with "Bust..." any cities or regions in England with that name??

I think the last missing word is "line" which would make it "3 Battns viz 1st and 3rd [something] line Regiment".

Actually it probably isn't "line"  Looking at Herefordshire, the "shire" is virtually identical to the last part of the row in question.  I'm leaning towards Dai Bach y Sowldiwr's interpretation...with a slight difference "viz. 1st and 3rd Bns. Monmouthshire Regiment."

I agree, Monmouthshire Regiment. Plus, makes sense: http://www.longlongtrail.co.uk/army/order-of-battle-of-divisions/53rd-welsh-division/

under: 160th (Welsh Border) Brigade listings.

re 15

I think line 2 reads

'often standing CROPS not PERMITTING'

also

in line 4 I wonder if 1st word is 'HOWEVER'

Agree with all but "often", it is "THE" (notice the several examples of handwriting of THE in 9) .
