Brendan Hogan Posted 14 April , 2020 Share Posted 14 April , 2020 Does anyone have an electronic copy of this pamphlet, SS552 Sound Ranging, March 1917, that they would be able to share? Thanks, Brendan Hogan
Admin DavidOwen Posted 14 April , 2020 Admin Share Posted 14 April , 2020 Hi Brendan Not the specific item you are asking about but I did find this https://archive.org/details/artilleryfiring00statgoog/page/n312/mode/2up/search/Sound+ranging I also removed your email as it could be scraped by bots. The forum has a private message system which can be used to share such details as necessary David
Brendan Hogan Posted 15 April , 2020 Author Share Posted 15 April , 2020 Thanks for your help David. One of the forum members saw my post and passed along the materials that I was looking for. Brendan
tootrock Posted 15 April , 2020 Share Posted 15 April , 2020 Having had a quick look at the link in #2 above, I note the following sentence: "Three salvoes are first fired in the way of verification at the usual rate, followed at once by volleys for effect." What is the differnce between a salvo and a volley - I always thought they were the same thing? Martin
