Steven Broomfield Posted 11 April , 2020 Share Posted 11 April , 2020 While completing the on-line purchase of a history of the Spectator, I browsed the publisher's website and stumbled across this: FOR VALOUR: the complete history of the Victoria Cross, Vol V I see publication is not until the end of next year, but some volumes must already be out Vol IV Vol III Vol II Vol I Quite pricey ... has anyone seen them? 593jones Posted 11 April , 2020 Share Posted 11 April , 2020 Out of my price range, but I noticed on reading the description the following: '...will be published in 8 volumes over 4 years, the first publishing on the 165 year of the first investiture in Hyde Park in 1845.' Unless they are also covering awards other than the VC I think that may be an error!

The Scorer Posted 11 April , 2020 Share Posted 11 April , 2020 I have a collection of books about the VC, but these are well out of my reach. In addition, I'm not sure that they'll actually add anything to the other books that I have.
The Scorer Posted 12 April , 2020 Share Posted 12 April , 2020 The two recent books that I have are "The Complete Victoria Cross" by Kevin Brazier and "The Victoria Cross Wars" by Brian Best. Between them, they do everything that this series says it does. They are also (even together) a lot smaller and very much cheaper than this series.
