alf mcm Posted 9 April , 2020 Share Posted 9 April , 2020 I was looking through T.N.A. for War Diaries and came across some Casualty Clearing Sections {none in Europe} https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/results/r?_ps=60&_q=WO+95+CASUALTY+CLEARING+SECTION Is this a mistake for Casualty Clearing Stations? TEW Posted 9 April , 2020 Share Posted 9 April , 2020 Oh!! Never seen those. Good spot though. Must be a mistake for station although perhaps those CCSs were divided into sections? TNA have a key as seen policy regarding their description of items. So if a cover sheet says section then section it is, even if everything else says station. Mistake wise I did see some stationery hospitals via discovery, not for ailing office supplies! Seems those are now corrected to stationary. alf mcm Posted 9 April , 2020 Author Share Posted 9 April , 2020 Thanks TEW, I suppose the only way to find out if it is a spelling mistake is to download one of the files. I think I'll wait until they are free! Regards, Alf McM
