Ian Davison Posted 9 April , 2020 Share Posted 9 April , 2020 I have recently purchased a set of medals (trio, MSM and Croix de Guerre with 2 palms to A/WO1 136320 R G WRIGHT RA I have searched and copied the London Gazette for the MSM but cannot find any reference to the CdG. The medals belonged to an Artillery Clerk. Does anyone know where it is possible to search/confirm if he is entitled to the CdG, I have tried London Gazette without success. Could it be that an earlier owner put the CdG with them in order to get a better price? Many thanks Ian Davison
Chris_Baker Posted 9 April , 2020 Share Posted 9 April , 2020 Try the French Journal Officiel. It's available online, searchable and free.
ForeignGong Posted 9 April , 2020 Share Posted 9 April , 2020 Hi His service papers survive on FMP and there is no mention of the Croix de Guerre. I cannot find him in the LG. There are many foreign awards that are not gazetted.
