I'm looking at the service details of CZ/6642 Francis DEGNAN, who seemed to have spent most of the war out of Rosyth

on RNVR trawler / minesweepers. There's a couple things I can't make out on his Service Record and wondered if

anyone could help.....

6th entry....looks like " Gunner (Chikdra) ..... List 12II / No. 35 " ........can't find a ship near this name.....any ideas ?

2nd last entry.... " Ganjka" ??

In general....what do the columns "List" & "No." refer to ?

2nd last entry.... " Ganjka" ??    Borne on the books of HMS GANGES while serving in the hired Aberdeen trawler JAMES S MELVILLE (minesweeper)

In general....what do the columns "List" & "No." refer to ? Simply put, what section of the parent ship pay ;edger he was on. For example List 12 was for men borne in ships which were tenders to the parent ship

He was initially entered for the RND but was sent to Sea Service in short order. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/D7268612
