Sjack91 Posted 2 April , 2020 Share Posted 2 April , 2020 Hi I have found a record for Peter Neil, a cabinet upholsterer from Uddingston who served in The Great War in the RAF. His service number was 305087. I believe he would have been involved in the maintenance of the Aeroplanes due to his trade. He is listed on his sons death certificate in 1918 as being a 2nd Mechanic. Thanks to previous post on the forum I have been able to gather information when he served with the 36 squadron in late 1918 . I am struggling to understand the abbreviations where he was previous to joining the 36th. Any help would be appreciated. UNIT FROM WHICH UNIT TO WHICH DATE OF EFFECT RD(f) 8/10/18 RD(f) REWG (0) 30/10/18 REWG (0) 36 SQD 28/11/18 36 SQD Georgetown 21/2/19 Transfer to RAF reserve 22/3/19 Discharged 30/4/20 Any help would be most appreciated.
