Richard,

Can you possibly give us some clues like where and when Walter was born. Where did he live before joining the Navy? Was he married, and who to. What do you know about his naval career. Did he survive the war?

Regards,

Many Thanks . Sadly he did not make it on HMS Cressey. He was one of three brothers that died in the first world war. He was born in 1891 In Islington. His Dad was william Henry Hall. Thats all so far Kind Regards Richard Hall

Thanks Richard, Walter's naval rcord is available on Ancestry  https://www.ancestry.co.uk/interactive/60522/43343_1019_0-00425?pid=118656&backurl=https://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin/sse.dll?indiv%3D1%26dbid%3D60522%26h%3D118656%26tid%3D%26pid%3D%26usePUB%3Dtrue%26_phsrc%3DbmY38409%26_phstart%3DsuccessSource&treeid=&personid=&hintid=&usePUB=true&_phsrc=bmY38409&_phstart=successSource&usePUBJs=true

Some of our experts will explain what it means if you get stuck. He is recorded as Walter Charles Nelson Hall and joined the Navy in 1919.

Richard ,

hadn't noticed this thread but added some info on your other thread about his brother. Nothing to add to the above other than CWGC state his rank was leading cooks mate, this of course could be an error.
