51st Sikhs Posted 29 March , 2020 Share Posted 29 March , 2020 (edited) I am away from home abroad at the moment and I do not have Kipling's list of the officers' of both the 1st and 2nd Battalions of the Regiment so I am trying to find out about an officer whose initials were ANB. Can anyone help please? Thank you kindly. Edited 29 March , 2020 by 51st Sikhs

51st Sikhs Posted 29 March , 2020 Author Share Posted 29 March , 2020 Hi I've already checked there and unfortunately there is no officer of those initials listed there. However I know he came in 1915 or right after that. Thanks for the suggestion. Any Irish Guards specialists out there?
davidbohl Posted 30 March , 2020 Share Posted 30 March , 2020 The nearest I can see is Lt Arthur Norman Odling 4th (Royal Irish) Dragoon Guards Dave
travers61 Posted 30 March , 2020 Share Posted 30 March , 2020 From the index to Kipling's book, If the initials are slightly out could it be 2nd Lt A H Blom, who disembarked in France 4.1.1915. The PRO at Kew has a file for Captain Alfred Hogarth BLOM, Irish Guards. His fathers naturalization certificate is on ancestry & shows Alfred was born 1890/91. Father was Carl Alfred Knut BLOM, a coal exporter born Sweden but living at Gosforth, Northumberland in 1901. In 1911 Alfred was a Law Student. Died 1935 Kensington, London. 51st Sikhs Posted 30 March , 2020 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2020 Thank you for that. I managed to look at every IG Officer between 1914-1918 and he’s the only closest initial I could find which I am getting to see it may be Blom after all. Many thanks.
