lucycutler Posted 29 March , 2020 Share Posted 29 March , 2020 Hi Guys, I'm struggling to identify this collar badge. Looks a bit like ASC to me, but the centre part would seem to be different. Any help much appreciated.
TullochArd Posted 29 March , 2020 Share Posted 29 March , 2020 (edited) Is that a beaver in the centre? If so it's Canadian ASC ….. Edited 29 March , 2020 by TullochArd Photo added

Tom K Posted 30 March , 2020 Share Posted 30 March , 2020 Pre WW1 30th British Columbia Horse. Definitely not CASC - the gent is wearing the 1896 Mounted Services Frock - which had collars and epaulettes in Corps or Regimental colours. CASC Frocks were blue with white collars and epaulettes their uniforms. (note also the ball finials on the ends of the longest rays)
lucycutler Posted 30 March , 2020 Author Share Posted 30 March , 2020 Excellent work Tom K, and thanks to all. I don't have the original photo, only the same scan as the one that I posted, so I couldn't see the detail better. I thought that it might possibly have been Canadian ASC but it wasn't quite right somehow. Many thanks for clearing it up for me.
