Would anyone know the location of the RAF Stores Depot in Egypt in 1921, please?

TIA,

Errol

I believe that when it was formed in 1920 it was based at Aboukir and it was still there when it merged with the Engine Repair Depot in 1925.

Hi

The Air-Britain book 'Flying Training and Support Units since 1912' p.267 has the following:

"STORES DEPOT: Formed 5.20 ex 'X' AD at ABOUKIR; Merged with Engine Repair Depot to become RAF Depot, Middle East 7.10.25."

Thanks Mike. I have the book but didn't spot the Stores Depot entry on p267, probably because it is recorded there in the wrong sequence. Should appear on p266 above Stores Depot Regents Park. Given the massive amount of info in the book and the amount of time that Ray Sturtivant spent researching it, it seems almost churlish to point out such a minor indiscretion!

Cheers,

Errol
