Perth Digger Posted 25 March , 2020 Share Posted 25 March , 2020 Looking for the burial place of Lt D E Webb, 107 Squadron RAF, I came across the Grave Registration Record for Boussu Communal Cemetery in Belgium. In Grave 1 is an "Unknown Roumanian Soldier", killed on 17 March 1917. Did Romanian soldiers fight on the Western Front? Thanks Mike

johnmelling1979 Posted 25 March , 2020 Share Posted 25 March , 2020 In the spring of 1917, the French Military Mission began a large process of reorganising and retraining of the romanian soldiers in using of modern equipment. That's as much as I know

Perth Digger Posted 25 March , 2020 Author Share Posted 25 March , 2020 Thanks for the interest. I suppose he must have been a POW, but why his name wasn't known after the war (unless the cross went missing) remains unclear. Mike
