Good afternoon I’m trying to find a record of my a G grandfather John O’OBrien on his  wedding certificate married Mary Hefferon, it states he was 25 and a private in the 56th regiment 
He is Irish and his Father was Edward O’Brien he was a gardener 

I am unable to trace this family and I wonder if he was sent abroad.

John s son was Edward my grandfather can Any one help me please

Unfortunately Valerie, this is outwith the scope of this Forum. The 56th went on to be the 2nd Battalion of the Essex Regiment.

 

Someone might come in with a pointer, but the Mods may well lock this Forum fairly swiftly.
