Indeed, increasing shipments of ammunition to France after October 1915, reflected in the *dramatic decrease in correspondence on ammunition-related topics, created new problems in France. An indication of this is that more ammunition forced the BEF to form ammunition depots at Quevilly and Audruicq in early 1916, and by the end of 1916, depots had also been created at Blargies (North), Zeneghem, Rouxmesnil, Dannes and Sagneville.

All these Depots are on in the coast

The Rouxmesnil depot was agreed to be built as of 4 July 1916

Huge stacks of ammunition at Saigenville, Rouxmesnil and Blargies up to 1918

Rouxmesnil is discussed in William Aves book on the ROD. What he says is mainly concerned with the period from 1918 onwards, when it was especially busy. Its importance appears to centre around the fact it was located just outside Dieppe, which was itself at the French end of ammunition and other supplies shipped from Southampton
