Skipman Posted 26 February , 2020 Author Share Posted 26 February , 2020 (edited) Morning. It looks like "Svalbard Mines" but not sure it can be. That location seems to be a long way from where they seem to be at the time. Am having great difficulty reading the writing. Attached relevant pages, if it helps. Thanks for all input. horatio2 Posted 26 February , 2020 Share Posted 26 February , 2020 (edited) Swarbacks Minn was a coaling station in the Shetlands, much used by 10th Cruiser Squadron. Quoted in a few references, especially - https://gala.gre.ac.uk/id/eprint/9397/1/Terence_Dawson_Lilley_2012.pdf. - "It is the straight between Papa Little and the further island on Muckle Roe and means 'The Straight of the Black Backed Gull'. Sometimes (erroneously) recorded as Swarback Minns. Further up the straight to the NE is the RN prtotected anchorage of Busta Voe.
