New Zealand Soldiers: Wills at Family Search

Recommended Posts

rolt968

My apologies if this is already known.

New Zealand soldiers' wills, including the documents are available on Family Search. In the case of the man I was researching, there was documentation of probate which matched a similar document in the (ordinary) wills section of scotlandspeople.

Edit: "Documents" are probate documents, although the text of the will is included.

The hint came from the New Zealand archives site where I found the soldier's record.

Family Search does not have a specific section of NZ soldiers' wills. It has the probate records of the time. If I remember rightly you search for the man with his dates and specify NZ records and look for the probate records. When I get back on my other computer I will do the search for my man again and post the link.
