Help please, new to this trying to research a great uncle, this is the only photo we have and his record shows he served in both regiments but unsure as to which this is  Kings Own Scottish Borderers or Royal Scots Fusiliers ?sydney.jpg.8096857e3c80fab41d4cc83e47193df6.jpg

Difficult to be 100% but I'd say the shape of the badge is more RSF than KOSB.

Yes, he was in KOSB we believe he was wounded sent home then sent back into RSF, we wonder why he was enlisted into KOSB when he was from Bushbury, Wolverhampton.

He died from his wounds April 1917 and was awarded the M.M

As in a lot of cases family did not really discuss the war, so sadly we do not know that much, he is buried in Abeville we have been to pay respects and are due to go again in April, if only we had asked questions years ago.

Not for the first time, I agree with Steven, he has a good eye.  The badge looks more like RSF than KOSB.

Do not read too much into regiment, it was extremely common after 1916 for men to be sent wherever they were required without consideration of their origin.
