tullybrone Posted 10 February , 2020 Share Posted 10 February , 2020 (edited) I came across mention of this in a programme I recorded on BBC NI yesterday evening. Don't think it’s been mentioned on the forum previously. Apologies if it has already been covered. MikeyH Posted 10 February , 2020 Share Posted 10 February , 2020 Yes, nicely done. I came across this a couple of years ago and never thought to do a link. Cavan was the ancestral home of my dad. Not so sure about the land mines though.... Mike.
RegHannay Posted 10 February , 2020 Share Posted 10 February , 2020 Great set up of trenches. probably being picky but CCS (Casualty clearing station in the trench?) maybe should read RAP (Regimental aid post) or if slightly further back in the line ADS (Advanced dressing station) Dave D
squirrel Posted 10 February , 2020 Share Posted 10 February , 2020 Not picky at all. Some often confuse the stages of casualty treatment and evacuation. Maybe because they misunderstand that a Casualty Clearing Station is where casualties were cleared from to hospitals and not the area of the battlefield.
