Has anyone found any significance in the dates on the back of some Pension Cards.

Assuming that this it does refer to 1983, this is the latest date I have found.

I thought that it might refer to the widow's death, but she died in 1932.

(I have another thread about him.)

He's Adam Fleming, RGA, 95790. There's an interesting indexing error which has incorporated the "PRES" of Presumed Dead into his name.

(Incidentally I spent an hour looking for the death of his elder son who is listed in his soldier's record but not on the pension card - then realised that the son was born in 1901 and therefore not eligible for a pension! Not one of my brighter days, today.)

The error can be reported for correction - http://www.westernfrontassociation.com/latest-news/november-2019/correction-of-transcription-errors-on-fold3/

It certainly looks like 1983 to me- I would imagine that someone made a query regarding the pension but whether that was an internal or external request is not clear.
