Has anyone found a way of searching WFA Pension Cards/Ledgers using wild cards?

Has anyone found a way of searching the Pension Cards/Ledgers using wild cards using either ancestry or fold3 or WFA? I an searching for a man with a fairly common name (very common if only the first initial is used) and can find nothing using his unit or number or date of death. Of course there may not be anything, but something might have been transcribed wrongly.

Please see the downloadable document on this page of the WFA's website

https://www.westernfrontassociation.com/pension-records/

This details the wildcard function.
