Nepper Posted 28 January , 2020 Share Posted 28 January , 2020 This is one of two brothers, Joe or George Orr pictured with his sister Catherine. Any ideas on his regiment or Corps, please?
FROGSMILE Posted 28 January , 2020 Share Posted 28 January , 2020 (edited) All I can say with confidence is that he has the style of shoulder title with larger letters than used by the cavalry and infantry. Typically of three letters, among the most common were RFA (Royal Field Artillery) and ASC (Army Service Corps), but there were several others. He wears a good conduct badge, an upside down stripe, on his left cuff for 2-years blemish free service. Do you have any family recollections of what types of things he did in the war? They might offer a clue as to his unit. Edited 28 January , 2020 by FROGSMILE
Nepper Posted 29 January , 2020 Author Share Posted 29 January , 2020 No details of what he did as yet, I'll ask the family. Is the wearing of breeches more indicative of RFA over ASC?
