onlyme Posted 28 January , 2020 Share Posted 28 January , 2020 Hi i have ancestry and we all know problems accessing war diaries. i took advice and use the keyword suggestion for accessing eg just enter the four digits from WO 95/1853/1... so we just use 1853 and that works. The problem is I am looking War diary for 267 siege battery R.G.A. and the number given by national archives shows reference is WO 95/390/7. How do we access the ancestry records if there are only the 3 numbers ... I tried 390 but no joy. Thanks ian
Colin W Taylor Posted 28 January , 2020 Share Posted 28 January , 2020 Ian, Only divisional war diaries are accessible on Ancestry. 267 Siege Battery was a corps or army unit a (not attached to a division) and will not be on there. You will have to search the National Archives website; the diary can be downloaded but will cost approx £3.50 to do so. Apologies Colin
