ive noticed the CWGC have no record of where pte 296A verney asser AIF is buried and have put his name on the Brookwood memorial, have they withheld his burial place on purpose because of the circumstances of his death or genuinely don't know his burial place

pte asser was hanged for murder at HM prison shepton mallet on 5-3-18,he was buried in a unmarked grave within the prison walls

Pte Asser was found to be missing from the CWGC register

By volunteer Terry Denham of The In from the cold project

His name was added to the register in 2010

Its not practical to have his grave marked with a CWGC stone so he is commemorated on the Brookwood memorial

Details of his offence HERE

thanks ray

I know they cant mark his grave, but my question is,why is his place of burial not recorded the, brookwood memorial is for those whos graves cant be located, which is not the case with private asser
