My Grandad George Henry Large

This is my grandad he served in the Norfolk 's service number 19112 and 19712 he was born near kings  Lynn 6th June 1881 and died in a Norwich hospital in march 1953.He lived with my Grandmother (Olive Doughty)  they never married ' they lived in Burnham Market 1920s onwards they had three children (Daughter s) but they never took his sir name different times then and people done funny things to stop embarrassment.Can t find any thing about on the net.

Is this the same man as in this thread Dan? If so, I'm not sure why you have started a new thread?

Hi Dan,

 19712 was his only No. 19112 was a mistake, shown as amended on his Medal Index Card. (Ancestry have his 15* award roll under the No. 19122, FMP only show him as 19112).

 Near numbers indicate he enlisted in July 1915 in Norwich. ( 19710 Enl. - 7/7/1915.   19724 - 10/7/1915 ).

He went to France with the 9th Battalion on 23/12/1915 and was finally discharged to Class Z. Army Reserve on 12/3/1919.
