JohnC Posted 21 January , 2020 Share Posted 21 January , 2020 I've attached some pictures of original German railway maps 'Etappenkarte' from the Palestine theatre. The first shows the Dead Sea/Jaffa/Gaza area dated 6/4/1918. The second is further north, around Nablus, dated 25/2/1918. The Nablus one is printed on a recycled large scale map of the same area. Both were produced by Vermessungsabteilung (Survey Section) 27 of the German Asien Korps. At a scale of 1:400,000 they show very little topographic information, just the locations of railways and stations, which were important strategic arteries for troop movements and favoured prey of desert raiders such as TE Lawrence. I'm no expert on this theatre so I post them here just for the information of anyone interested. John
