Hi all could anyone tell me why an RFC casualty with the 9th squadron RFC as an air  mechanic would be attached to the c battery 47th brigade RFA?

The chap in question is 13071 AM2 Alfred Maurice King

Thanks in advance

Hi

Probably a wireless operator at the receiving end for transmissions from No. 9 Sqn. machines when artillery spotting.  RFC personnel were supplied to the artillery for this purpose.
