Cap Badge ID needed

I am helping a person identify ancestors form a group of old (unlabeled of course) family photos she inherited form her aunt.  She is unsure if this person is her Grandfather or Great Grandfather.     Based on the uniform I believe him to be WWI.  Lastly, is there anything else you can say about the uniform that might help pin down who he is and most importantly is anyone able to identify his unit based on his cap badge as I have had no luck with google thus far.  Many thanks, jjj

Wasn't this picture posted recently? Consensus was Army Service Corps but a strange distortion.

How curious.

The enlarged image looks far less like an ASC badge than the small one.

There's no evidence of a central roundel in this one???

The badge is highly polished and there’s a lot of reflection, but personally I’m confident that it is an ASC badge that’s been bent to curve backwards at the West and East points.
