The two officers are Major-General Scott Moncrieff and Colonel W. D. Bird.  105hp Foster-Daimler Petrol Tractor with Foster's Automatic Portable Bridge. Early 1915. Known as Tritton's Trenchcrossing machine.  Two Bullock or Creeping Grip Tractors, coupled together to form an articulated machine. (Land ship and Infantry Carrier Scheme). At the works of Messrs. McEwan, Pratt & Co., Ltd., Burton on Trent, June 1915. Experiments with Bullock or Creeping Grip Tractor (American) with wooden "elephant feet". Burton-on-Trent, August 1915.  Experimental Diplock Pedrail Tractor. Salisbury Plain. (Land ship or Infantry Carrier Idea. Later Flammenwerfer Carrier Idea).  Bullock or Creeping Grip Tractor passing over trench, showing tendency to sag and to come off the rollers. This was the fault with "No. 1 Lincoln Machine" "Bullock Track Machine" or "Tritton Machine" the first edition of "Little Willie".  Experimental Tank "Little Willie" on Bullock (American) Tracks, modified by increasing the camber. The machine is seen closely tarpaulined, as it appeared on its first public trial at Lincoln, on 19th September 1915. The Tracks were a failure.  "Little Willie" on Wilson-Tritton Track on test in Burton Park, Lincoln. 3rd December 1915. Prototype of Marks 1, 2 and 3 series, known as "Big Willie", "HMLS 
Centipede" and "Mother".
