Major Douglas Mac Olive

Recommended Posts

Hi,

does anyone have some information about Major Douglas Mac Olive. He might have come from Grimsby and he served for the Control Commission of Germany as KRO in Bielefeld from 1945 - 1952. He was very respected for the work he did there.

He was in the casualty list of 16th November 1918, as wounded...Lt. D Mac Olive RFA.

Edit...born October 1893 in New Barnett, Herts....the son of a Smokery Manager.

By 1911 he is a dock worker living at Thrunscoe Road,

LG 23/3/17 Territorial Force  RFA : Cadets to be 2Lt  Douglas Mac Olive

He has a service record covering the period 29/3/11 when he attested to 5th Lincolnshire Regt no 1208 until discharged (time expired) 10/4/16 as OR Sgt, having served in France with 1/5th from 1/3/15-31/3/16. I think mostly 3rd Echelon, Rouen.

MIC quoted above adds quite a bit.

He was wounded twice at least- CasList 12/10/17 2Lt RFA, CasList 16/11/18 Lt RFA.

MiD LG 4/4/46 as a T/Major RA
