Thomas Newton - killed 1916

Hi

I am trying to find the correct Thomas Newton that was killed in 1916.

I have noticed someone on ancestry has that year, but I can't see a date or regiment.

Mine was born in 1892 in St Andrew (Edinburgh), Scotland to Peter Newton and Catherine Drummond.

He married Margaret Murray in Canongate, Midlothian in 1912.

However, there are a few Thomas (and Tom) Newton's that died in 1916, so I'm not sure which is the correct one.

There is one from a Scottish Regiment which I'm sure will be him, but that won't be 100%.

Maybe the Register of Soldiers Effects might give his widow as Margaret if anybody can check please?

Or if there's any more information about him I would be most grateful.

Thanks

Darin.
