helpjpl Posted 28 December , 2019 Share Posted 28 December , 2019 According to his service record, 266406 Cuthbert (Henry John Rigaud) Turner suffered a GSW to his ankle resulting in his right foot being amputated. The date is very faint but appears to be 25 August 1918 (all 3 links courtesy of ancestry): I don't expect Cuthbert to be named as a casualty in the WD but I should like to know where he was. Trouble is I don't know which WD I should be looking at: Can a kind soul point me in the right direction or provide a link to the relevant WD on ancestry? Many thanks JP
clk Posted 28 December , 2019 Share Posted 28 December , 2019 Hi JP, The LLT says that the 2/5 Bn was absorbed by the 1/5 Bn in January 1918 (which was then renamed to the plain 5th), so I think that the diary you need is this one - Ancestry link Regards Chris
