352517 Pte. Manchester Regiment

I am trying to find out more about this soldier on behalf of a Belgium friend who has interest in Samuel.   Bn. Number,  Where he fell, presumably in the 3rd Battle of Ypres or Passchendaele. 
His enlist date & where he came from & who his family were & where they lived.  Any help really appreciated .Thank You.

FindaGrave gives his dob as 18 Oct 1897, and the headstone gives parents and family

It would have been at Poelcapelle where the battalion suffered many casualties including a 2Lt Ainsworth of D Company who was one of the men my wife has been researching.  My friend and I took some photos at Tyne Cot.  Barely discernable, but Samuel's name is there on the 5th panel from the left (with the reflection of the sun I think), middle column about half way down immediately above the horizontal line which is virtually underlining his name.
