Guest Posted 24 December , 2019 Share Posted 24 December , 2019 Remembering Roland Aubrey Leighton, a lieutenant in the Worcestershire Regiment, who died of a gunshot wound in Louvencourt, France on December 23, 1915, age twenty. Below is a poem he wrote earlier in that year, after seeing the body of a half-buried British soldier in Plugstreet Wood during his time in the trenches of Belgium.
